Who am I?

”I believe it matters that we make difference every day.
Work hard, help others, be grateful for what we have and aspire to make the world a better place”

History

I have lived in Kamloops since the 1970’s. I attended schools in Westsyde, Valleyview and graduated from Kamloops Senior Secondary in 1987. I attended Cariboo College and graduated from UCC where I also met my wife Kathleen (a SD #73 Trustee). Kathleen and I have been married for 25 years and we are blessed to have 3 great kids, 2 black labs and a cat to keep us busy.

I have 14.5 years of post secondary education, including a B.Sc. from UCC, Masters studies from SFU in Resource and Environmental Management, plus a Doctor of Chiropractic. I have worked in planning, fire ecology, forestry and now in health care. I have also studied business, economics and conflict resolution/mediation along the way too.

I have been a BC rep and National president of the Student Canadian Chiropractic Association, a VP of the Cariboo Student Society (1993-94) and instrumental in getting the TRU Independence Centre built. I have served as a strata board member for our commercial/common strata for 9 years.

I opened my scratch start business, Aberdeen Chiropractic Clinic, 19 years ago. I have resided in Brocklehurst for the past 16 years. I spend my free time with my family and friends and when possible, gardening, cycling, hiking, exploring, hunting and fishing, or just taking photos in and around Kamloops.

My parents, Betty and Hank, have always been great role models to me and my siblings. In addition to my parents, I have been blessed with so many great role models and assets in my younger years. 3rd Kamloops Scouting leaders, teachers and many others instilled the value of community and public service. It is why I am a very active 18+ year Charter Member of The Rotary Club of Kamloops Aurora Centennial and it’s current President (again!).
I am passionate that Kamloops is a great city that just needs a new direction to realize its true potential. I know that together we can rise up to meet the many challenges we face. I know that we can be innovative and creative in finding ways to achieve our goals. I love to serve my community and it is my intention to serve our great city of Kamloops as a city councilor in the coming years. I know that there are some hard choices that we need to make to get us to where we want to go. I am willing to make the hard choices for the benefit of all who work, and enjoy our great City of Kamloops. I kindly ask for your support on or before the October 15th election day to make that happen. Thank you!
